Generally, events at SPGENS can be divided into these categories: Rate Events, Staff Hosted Events, and Other Events.

Rate Events
These types of events are triggered by a schedule or by server staff. Events under this category can be checked with the @events command, or upon logging into a channel through the welcome message under the [EVENT] tag.
Hot Time
Hot Time is a periodic event where server rates are temporarily doubled for the duration of the event.
